Accountee

Terms of Service

Last updated: 22 October 2026

These terms apply when you use accountee.in as a business ("client") or as an accountant. By creating an account you agree to them. Please read them with our Privacy Policy and Cancellation & Refund Policy, which form part of these terms.

1. Who we are

Accountee is a trade name of Mahesh Sharma, a sole proprietorship with its place of business at Thane, Maharashtra 400615 ("Accountee", "we", "us").

Accountee is an online marketplace. It connects businesses with independent accountants who work at the business's own office, by the hour. Accountee is not a firm of chartered accountants and does not itself give accounting, tax, audit or legal advice; each visit is carried out by the accountant who accepts it.

2. Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract. A business account must be opened by someone authorised to act for that business.
  • Give true and complete details and keep them up to date. Each email address has one role — client or accountant — which cannot be changed later.
  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us at once if you think it has been misused.

3. Bookings (clients)

  • You choose a level, the hours, the dates and one of your saved addresses. Visits are in whole hours, must end by 9:00 PM IST, and the first visit must be between 24 hours and 30 days away. Weekly bookings repeat for up to 4 weeks.
  • We offer your request to one eligible accountant at a time. If nobody accepts within 48 hours, the request closes and nothing is charged.
  • A booking is confirmed only when you pay after an accountant accepts. Pay within 24 hours of acceptance, or by 4 hours before the visit if that is sooner; unpaid bookings expire.

4. Prices, payment and taxes

  • The price is the accountant's fee plus Accountee's platform fee, plus any taxes that apply. The full breakdown is shown before you send a request and again before you pay.
  • Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not see or store your card or bank details.
  • For each payment you receive an invoice from Accountee for the platform fee and a receipt for the accountant's fee. GST is charged only if and when Accountee is registered under GST, and then as shown in the breakdown.
  • Extra hours during a visit are charged only if you approve them.

5. On-site visits

  • Provide a safe place to work, access to the computer and software needed, and the documents for the booked work.
  • A visit starts when the accountant enters the start code shown in your account and ends when they enter the end code you share after reading their work log. Share codes only in person, with the accountant at your office.
  • Executive work is preparation only. Filing returns, digital signatures and statutory sign-off stay with you or your chartered accountant.
  • You remain responsible for your books, filings, tax payments and business decisions.

6. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellations, no-shows and refunds follow our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

7. Accountants

  • You must give true details and valid KYC documents. Accountee checks your KYC, gives you a practical test, sets your level and approves you only after a supervised trial visit. We may decline an application with a reason.
  • You are an independent professional, not an employee or agent of Accountee. You decide your weekly hours and may accept or decline each offer. Once a visit is accepted and paid, please attend; repeated late cancellations or no-shows can lead to suspension.
  • Keep each client's information confidential. Do not copy, photograph, upload or take away client data, and do not use it for anything other than the booked work.
  • We pay you every Monday for the previous Monday–Sunday's completed visits and approved extra time, after deducting tax at source where the law requires it (for example under section 194-O of the Income-tax Act).
  • We may suspend an accountant for misconduct, a breach of these terms or a safety concern, and will tell you the reason.

8. Working outside Accountee

  • Clients: if, within 12 months after your last visit with an accountant you met through Accountee, you engage that accountant directly outside Accountee, you agree to pay Accountee a conversion fee equal to two months of your average booking value with that accountant, for the introduction.
  • Accountants: while you use Accountee and for 12 months after a client's last visit with you, you agree not to ask that client to book or pay you outside Accountee.

9. Ratings, work logs and feedback

Clients may rate visits within 7 days. Accountants write a work log for each visit and may give private feedback about a client, which only Accountee sees and may use in matching. Keep all of these honest and respectful; we may remove content that is false, abusive or unlawful.

10. What you must not do

  • Use Accountee for anything unlawful, or to evade tax or falsify accounts.
  • Share another person's personal data without a lawful reason.
  • Try to break, overload or get around the security of the platform, or create accounts for someone else without their permission.

11. Liability

We work to verify accountants and run the platform carefully, but we do not guarantee any particular outcome from a visit. To the extent the law allows, Accountee is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim about a booking is limited to the platform fee paid for that booking. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or any liability or consumer right that cannot be limited under Indian law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

You agree to compensate Accountee for losses caused by your breach of these terms or of the law.

12. Suspension and closing your account

You can close your account once you have no upcoming visits or unpaid amounts. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, and will tell you why. Records we must keep by law (such as invoices) are kept after an account closes.

13. Complaints and grievance officer

For any complaint about a booking, a payment, an accountant, a client or how we handle your data, contact our Grievance Officer:

Grievance Officer: Mahesh Sharma, Proprietor

Email: support@accountee.in (write "Grievance" in the subject)

Address: Thane, Maharashtra 400615

Hours: Monday–Saturday, 9:00 AM–7:00 PM IST

We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within one month of receiving it.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to your rights as a consumer, the courts at Thane, Maharashtra have jurisdiction.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the app before it applies. Bookings already paid keep the terms in force when they were paid.
