Delete your Accountee account
Last updated: 28 October 2026
You can ask us to delete your Accountee account, whether you book accountants or work as one, on the website or in the Accountee app. We delete it within 30 days and email you when it is done.
1. How to ask
- Signed in: clients open Settings, accountants open Profile, then choose Request account deletion at the bottom of the page. Sign in
- Can't sign in: email [email protected] from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account".
2. What happens next
- We confirm your request by email.
- If you have upcoming visits or unpaid amounts, we contact you first. Paid visits that are cancelled are refunded as set out in our Cancellation & Refund Policy; accountants receive what they are owed for completed visits.
- We delete your account within 30 days and email you when it is done. After that you can no longer sign in.
3. What we delete
- Your sign-in account and password.
- Your name, mobile number and email address.
- For clients: business details and saved office addresses.
- For accountants: your profile, skills, availability and bank details, and your KYC documents once the law no longer requires us to keep them.
- Your notifications and in-app messages.
4. What we keep
Indian tax and accounting laws require us to keep some records after an account is closed. We keep only these, for as long as those laws require, and then delete them:
- Invoices, receipts, payments and refunds.
- Accountant payouts and TDS records.
- The record of your deletion request: who asked, when, and what was done.
